L&L Luce&Light LED lighting systems were chosen to light the Dar il-Hanin Samaritan in Santa Venera, on the island of Malta.
The building was designed by the Maltese architect Richard England, and its conference rooms and offices are used by the members of M.U.S.E.U.M., a Christian community founded in Malta at the beginning of the 20th century.
Light Design Solutions (Malta) planned all the lighting installations. L&L systems were used to underscore the sense of meditative silence both indoors and outdoors. Theatrical effects enhance the outdoor areas, with the general use of warm white lights to contrast with the cool lights used for the water elements.
The more traditional solutions used to light the footpaths, stops and fountains are complemented by decidedly more unusual touches. Examples of this are the columns picked out with 3D effects, and the dramatic projections created with the outlines of the courtyard’s trees.
